Chateau Potensac 2008 Review

Chateau Potensac’s 2008 vintage sees a welcome return to form for this producer following the difficult 2007 vintage. This remains a “go to” label for both quality and price. The 2008 vintage opens to an aroma of fresh cube like fruit and oily popcorn, but settled quickly to reveal classic blackcurrant aromatics. It is the palate that stands out. Medium to pronounced persistence of flavour is accompanied by young oak, medium acidity and fine grained tannins. These combine to give a deeply flavoured expression of textured blackcurrant fruit. This wine is highly recommended. Review Rating: Good to Very Good (★★★☆, 89 points). Website: Château Potensac. Tasted: December 2011.  Like: Subscribe.
