This is a serious riesling from Robert Weil in the Rheingau in Germany. Labelled as “trocken” (dry) it has initial aromas of honey and pineapple. The wine evolves in the glass to a firm expression of apple, lemon and stones with pure and particularly intense fruit. It’s a riesling’s riesling that will appeal to the partial. The palate gives an impression of being dry, and the flavours have an intense stone and apple character. Overall, this is a powerful and intense expression of riesling from the Rheingau.
