The wines of Château Pichon Baron Longueville are more or less always of top quality and represent the best of Pauillac in Bordeaux without paying for a first growth. The 2004 vintage of the Baron is now 20 years’ of age. This shows in a relaxed and mature wine. The cork is in excellent condition. The wine has aromas of leather, mature blackcurrants and hints of truffle. The palate is medium bodied and its defining character is long, gentle length and resolved, supple tannins. Ready to drink now, this is superb wine. Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 94 points). Website: Château Pichon Baron. Tasted: June 2024.
