This wine from Château La Tour de Mons in Margaux and from the great 2005 vintage is textbook Margaux. It is deeply coloured in the glass. The wine opens to aromas of brooding blackcurrants, red fruits and is quickly lifted up by floral characters of violet. Its palate is defined by particularly long length, a medium body and a supple character that marks an invisible thread between Margaux and Chambolle-Musigny. This is a fabulous wine that is in its drinking prime. Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 94 points). Website: Château La Tour de Mons. Tasted: May 2024.
