Mi Terruno Bonarda Mendoza 2015

Argentine Bonarda is not a wine found on many retail shelves in Australia. It is described only briefly, and perhaps without high praise, in Jancis Robinson’s guide as a “fruity wine for early drinking”. This wine from the 2015 vintage and Mi Terruno in Mendoza sits outside of this framing. Darkly coloured, it has aromas of raisins and chocolate. The palate is full bodied with milk chocolate, dark fruits and some moderate tannins. Ready to drink now, it is a dark fruited and approachable style that reminds of those from the south of Italy. Review Rating: Good (★★★, 87 points). Website: Bodega Mi Terruno. Tasted: April 2024.
