2013 is a good vintage in Champagne. I find this vintage guide is a reasonable proxy for English wine trade consensus on the vintage’s character. It is a consensus I often agree with, although not always. From Moët & Chandon, their 2013 vintage rosé Champagne has an autolytic, toasty aroma supplemented by red fruits reminding of strawberries. The palate is dry, high in acidity and has a fine mousse nuanced with brioche flavours. Its defining feature is a minerally character that it is more pronounced than than its red fruited aroma might otherwise suggest. Overall, this is a complex, top quality rosé vintage Champagne that will suit drinking whenever you can. Review Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 90 points). Website: Moët & Chandon. Tasted: March 2024.
