This wine is from Terre à Terre, a very good producer in Wrattonbully near Coonawarra in South Australia. It’s an unorthodox blend of cabernet franc (63%) and shiraz (37%). In the glass, there are brooding aromas of dark fruits and cedar, and lifted herbal characters with time. The palate is medium to full bodied, the alcohol 14.5, its tannins high and firmly textured and its finish warming. This is a high quality wine at its $32 price point, and will benefit from a further 2 to 3 years in the cellar, and suit drinking over the next 5 to 8 years. Rating: Good (★★★). Source: Sample. Reviewed: November 2021.
