This wine review is of Delatite’s riesling from the 2019 vintage. Delatite is situated in north eastern Victoria with stunning views of the local mountains. Its riesling is fashioned in a classic bone dry, minerally style. It has aromas of stones and unripe citrus. The palate is dry, has high acidity, moderate alcohol, a medium body and a minerally, stoney finish. This is a very long lived style of riesling. It is drinking well now in its youth as fresh and crisp. Bottled under screw cap, I anticipate the wine will take 8-10 years in the cellar to develop tertiary characters and then have a best drinking window of a further decade. Rating: Very Good. Website: Producer. Reviewed: August 2021.
