Sedona Estate Sangiovese 2019 Wine Review

This wine review is a Sedona Estate sangiovese from the 2019 vintage and the Yea region in the hills north of the Yarra Valley in Victoria. It’s a really good sangiovese. In terms of style, the wine is closer to a Chianti Classico style than those I taste from the better known King Valley in Victoria for this variety. It has spice, red fruits, a medium body, high acidity, cedar characters and its chalky medium tannins are appealing and its distinguishing feature. This high quality sangiovese can be approached now, but would benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and then drunk over the next 5-8 years. Rating: Good. Website: Producer, Wine Searcher. Reviewed: July 2020.
