This is a riper and richer style of Barbera d’Asti. Deeply coloured, the wine has a rich aroma of fennel and licorice. The palate is medium bodied with chalky tannins and has medium to long length on the finish. This is a lovely barbera that will suit as a syrah substitute and drink well over the next five or so years. Rating: Good to Very Good. Abv: 14.5. Price: $40.
