Mitchell Harris Cabernet Sauvignon Pyrenees 2015

Advertisements

This is an interesting Pyrenees cabernet sauvignon from Mitchell Harris Wines.  The 2015 vintage of this wine sees 10% whole bunch fermentation, which I think imparts some overtly fruity aromatics and a style almost reminiscent of a Loire Valley cab franc.  In the glass, there are aromas of pastille and blackcurrant.  The palate has great length, with notes of blackcurrant and vanilla (the 20% new oak is well judged) and a medium bodied expression.  (Alc: 13.5%, Region: Pyrenees, Victoria, Rating: Good, Drink: now to 2025, Tasted: July, 2017, Source: Sample)
