For around the $20 mark, Jim Barry’s Lodge Hill riesling from the Clare Valley provides very good drinking and is capable of long ageing. The 2007 vintage tasted here a decade on offers up lemon and toast aromas. The wine in the glass is towards golden in colour and the palate is finely poised. Rating: Very Good. Tasted: March 2017.
