d’Arenberg The Footbolt Shiraz 2013

The 2013 vintage is a good release of d’Arenberg’s “The Footbolt shiraz”.  The fruit is 100% from McLaren Vale and the vintage conditions were favourable.  In the glass, I liked the purity of its aromatic expression – principally an exercise in apricots, plums and licorice.  The palate is balanced with good length.  Ready to drink now, the 2013 Footbolt should improve over the next few years.  This is great value at $18.
