Katnook Estate is another label I have not looked in on for a while, and like my last review also a Coonawarra. Their intermediate cab is labelled simply as the “Katnook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon” and the 2012 release is before me. Its aromatics remind squarely of blackcurrant and Coonawarra black olives and earth, together with something ferrous. The oak influence on the palate is noticeable and the wine calm in personality. Not a bad release. A-G
