Angullong Fossil Hill Barbera 2013

Barbera is a grape variety that is very adaptable in Italy, and capable of many styles.  This style from Angullong in Orange appears more at the primary fruited end of the spectrum.  Its aromatics remind of plum, stones and earth, with an overlay of strawberry jam.  The palate is dry, but the fruit impression very sweet and ripe, verging on unctuous.  The flavours remind of strawberry and cherry, and the oak used in 25% of the blend has been eaten up.  A fruit driven expression of barbera for current drinking.  A-G
