Prunotto Barbera d’Alba 2013

The colour of this barbera gives away its quality – bright red and rather transparent.  In the glass, it has sweet aromatics of raspberry and redcurrant compote.  The palate is simple, although like all good Italian wine, it acquires more character with food.  Overall though this is a simple rendition of a Barbera d’Alba, and would please at half the price.

Rating: Acceptable, Abv: 13%, Price: $20s, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.prunotto.it/inglese/home.php, Tasted: 2015
