Taylors’ Jaraman shiraz from the 2013 vintage has its fruit sourced from two regions – 65% from the Clare Valley, and 35% from McLaren Vale. The grapes were picked from mid February through to the third week of April, destemmed, cold soaked, and aged in American oak with 30% of it one year old and the balance two to three years old. The result in the glass is a deep purple in colour, with aromatics reminding of blackcurrant, plum, licorice and anise. The palate knits together with time in the glass, with flavours of plum, blackcurrant, licorice, new leather and fresh coffee and a medium length finish. Decanting is recommended.
