Angullong’s sauvignon blanc from Orange is very good substitute for its benchmark Marlborough cousin across the Tasman. Surprisingly few seem able to produce a similar style in Australia’s regions, but here we are. Pale in the glass, the 2014 sauvignon blanc has clean and lively aromatics of spice, cut grass, gooseberry and green melon. The palate is dry, the acid chirpy, and the wine balanced with mid length on the finish. Easy, refreshing drinking.
