This is a very smart chardonnay from Montalto. Aromatically, it is very restrained, with muted notes of lemon, stone and bread. The palate though is immediately lively and flavoursome, providing an unexpected contrast. There are reminders of peach, lemon and cedar coupled with good length and depth of flavours. This is a very good and modestly priced release from Montalto, and another success for winemaker Simon Black.
