Lerida Estate’s 2013 “Cullerin” pinot noir is a pale intensity ruby in colour and it has really quite attractive pinot noir aromatics of cherry, redcurrant and red plums. The palate though does not have a strong frame. Medium bodied, there are some ripe cherry flavours, but they rather swim around a bit with the wine appearing to lack acidity. The length on the finish is towards medium, but it is also accompanied by some heat. 14.9% abv is rather high for the pinot noir grape, and I think this wine has lost some definition in its ripeness.
