Chateau Picque Caillou 2010

From one of what I regard as a very reliable appellation, Chateau Picque Caillou’s Pessac-Léognan from the 2010 vintage has aromatics of chocolate, cloves, ripe and unripe blackberry and blackcurrant.  The palate sees dryish firm tannins, structured depth and flavours reminding of dark cherry and dark plums.  This is lovely drinking now, or could be put away for a few years.

Rating: Good to Very Good, Abv: 14%, Price: $50s, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.picque-caillou.com, Tasted: 2014
