Bakkheia Tripartite 2013

The 2013 vintage of Bakkheia’s Tripartite is a blend of 40% grenache, 50% shiraz and 10% mourvedre.  In style, it’s like a journey to southern France; and a good journey at that.  With some depth of colour in the glass, the 2013 release is super aromatic and has notes of lavender, spice, plums and earth.  There’s medium length on the palate, with a savoury edge and flavours reminding of earth, plums and spice.  Some chalky tannin is tucked away too.  This is a good wine that achieves a balance and moreish quality eschewed by many.

Rating: Good, Abv: 14.3%, Price: not yet released, Source: sample, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.bakkheia.com.au, Tasted: 2014
