The Moulin-à-Vent region. Source: Google Maps |
Moulin-à-Vent is one of the better regarded Beaujolais crus, and has the potential to produce concentrated gamay wines that last well. This wine is not one of those – it’s $9.90 – but it’s a pretty sound wine nonetheless. It has aromatics of dark cherry, pepper, fresh oregano and some tucked away banana skins. The palate is balanced and very drinkable.
