Vecchie Terre di Montefili Montefili Rosso 2010

Form an orderly queue for this wine … !  It’s exactly what I’m looking for in an IGT Toscana.  There are attractive aromatics of plums, tar, florals and earth.  It’s the palate though that sings.  There’s some unexpectedly long length, mouth filling depth of flavour and earthy, plummy characters.  It also has some lovely textural tannins that are full of ripe and chalky extract.  For the price, this a pretty high quality offering.

Rating: Good to Very Good, Abv: 13%, Price: $20, Vendors: http://www.wine-searcher.com/, Website: http://www.vecchieterredimontefili.it, Tasted: 2014
