Swinging Bridge Sauvignon Blanc 2013

This is a solid sort of a sauvignon blanc offering which sees some barrel maturation and reminds of a young Pouilly-Fumé.  A pale intensity lemon in colour, it has light (for sauvignon blanc) aromatics of lemon, grass and gooseberry.  The palate has medium to high acid, and crisp lemon flavours that verge on mineral.  It’s fresh and is certainly not an over the top expression of sauvignon blanc.  The petillance is quite considerable at this point in its life.  A balanced effort.  Acceptable
