Stumpy Gully is a small winery situated in the Moorooduc region of the Mornington Peninsula. I came across their 2011 chardonnay on a restaurant list, and thought it worth a write up. Aromatics of ripe peaches, lemon and red grapefruit are most predominant. The palate has a soft mouthfeel, with oak character evident supplemented by a leesy cereal note and some lemon rinse. The acid presents quite broadly on the palate, and could be a little firmer, but the quite good length holds the wine together. In all, perfectly pleasant drinking. Acceptable to Good
