Lark Hill Chardonnay 2010

This is the first time I’ve tried Lark Hill’s chardonnay and, as its location on the map might suggest, it is true to its cool climate origins.  A bright pale intensity lemon in colour, the wine opens to clean, youthful and phenolic aromatics of wet stones, grass and lemon citrus.  The palate is dry, with lemon citrus flavours dominant, but nuanced with a pleasing minerality.  It is a medium length and a medium bodied expression of chardonnay, with noticeably brisk acidity.  The acidity is perhaps a little racier than I prefer, but this is a good wine that is a classic expression of a cool climate chardonnay and fits the bill.  Good
