This wine from Château Latour’s 2006 vintage is among several superstar wines I have been fortunate to taste recently. Some Bordeaux estates need no introduction and, in this case, exceptional quality may be taken for granted. The 2006 vintage of Château Latour has aromas of blackcurrants together with the lifted gentle warmth typical of this estate. It reassures that pinnacles do indeed exist and are worth aiming at. On the palate, for a 19 year old wine, the tannins are still firm and sublimely balanced. A long future is promised. Very long length on the finish completes the impression. This wine can be approached over any relevant timeframe. Review Rating: Outstanding (★★★★★, 98 points). Website: Château Latour. Tasted: February 2025. Like: Subscribe.
