It is pleasing to see more La Chablisienne wines on Australian retail shelves. La Chablisienne is a very good co-operative producer in Chablis and I have reviewed a number of their wines on this site over the years. Use the search function to easily find them. The wines represent terrific value and present archetypal Chablis. This wine is the 1er cru “Grand Cuvée” and is a blend of premier cru Chablis vineyards from the 2020 vintage. In the glass, the wine has restrained aromas of stones, shells and meal. The palate is medium bodied, restrained, the acidity high and fresh and there is a bread like texture from time on lees. The wine finishes with good length and harmony. This wine can be approached now, and drunk over the next 5 to 8 years. Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 90 points). Website: La Chabilisienne. Tasted: June 2024.
