From the strong 2019 vintage, this is the best Château Cantemerle I have tried since their 2010 vintage. A deep colour in the glass, the wine’s aroma is a classic left bank Bordeaux expression of blackcurrant and cedar. The palate adds characters of clove and leaf. Firm tannins, dark fruit flavours and a youthful, plump finish complete the picture. This vintage of Château Cantemerle is drinking well now and should improve for a further 5 to 7 years. Review Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 90 points). Website: Château Cantemerle. Tasted: April 2024.
