Jean-Claude Mas Le Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Advertisements

From the Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France, this wine is a sauvignon blanc from Jean-Claude Mas. Labelled as “Le Sauvignon Blanc”, a smart move, it has aromas of salt, earth and dusty capsicum.  The palate is dry and it is between medium and full bodied.  Its bright acidity keeps the wine fresh.  In style, this sits between fruity New Zealand sauvignon blanc and more austere and expensive Sancerre.  At $20, this wine is a good choice for current drinking.  Rating: Good (★★★, 88 points).
