Cantarranas Verdejo Rueda 2020 Review

This continues a series of recent Spanish wine reviews. Rueda is little seen in Australia, but fits comfortably as an alternative to sauvignon blanc. The grape variety is verdejo, which is not the same as another white, verdelho. The wine opens to floral, herbs and even passionfruit aromas. The palate is dry, medium to full bodied and the acidity is medium (rather than high as in the case of most sauvignon blanc). It is unoaked and 13.0abv. Ready to drink now, this wine presents versatile and uncritical drinking. Rating: Good. Website: N/A. Reviewed: September 2021.
