Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2015

This is Joseph Faiveley’s Bourgogne level wine from the highly regarded 2015 vintage.  Expectations were perhaps unfairly high, and were only partly met.  Initially it presents as a relatively simple wine that is pleasant enough, but without any great character.  With (considerable) time in the glass, the wine took on some weight and complexity, with autumnal leaf characters, firm tannins (for pinot) and good length all emerging from slumber.  On this tasting, I would recommend a long decant for this wine to show its best.  Rating: Acceptable to Good. Abv: N/A. Price: $50+.
