The 2012 vintage of Bannockburn’s chardonnay wears its varietal character on its sleeve. It’s highly expressive at this juncture, at a time when many chardonnays grown on Australian soil aren’t. Heady aromatics of cashew, oil, butter and some oak characters promise a full flavoured wine on the palate. And the palate is just that, with considerable depth and long length, nuanced with cashew and lemon characters. This is a good, perhaps even very good, chardonnay, that will suit those in search of a richer style. Good
