This blend of 65% mataro (mourvedre), 20% grenache and 15% shiraz from Tim Smith in the Barossa Valley is one for your decanter. Initially, the wine reveals exuberant and youthful aromatics of blueberry, currant, raisin and prune. On the palate, soft and supple tannins and blueberry flavours predominate. Yet it is with time that greater interest is revealed, with the youthful characters giving way to a satisfying and attractive sinewy meatiness. Drink over the next few years. Good
