It’s not often one stumbles across AOC wines from Gevrey-Chambertin in Australia for under $30. I bought half a dozen on reputation alone. This unfortunately proved to be an error. Lightly coloured, this pinot noir opens to simple aromatics of cherry, old wood and a touch of toffee. On the palate, the wine has a tart mouthfeel, with very high acid, and only echoes of cherry flavour. Perfectly fine for quaffing, but little more. Acceptable
