Kooyong Estate falls under the same Gjergja family ownership as Port Phillip Estate in the Mornington Peninsula. Winemaker Sandro Mosele has fashioned a wine of interest here in the 2011 Kooyong Estate Clonale chardonnay. Aromatics of apples, lemons, very light oak, and apple blossom. The palate is medium-high acid, and delicate in its expression and texture. Subtle length, apples, bread and lemons, and pleasingly taut, yet not too lean, with some chardonnay fatness there. Just what I was looking for with lunch. Good
