From Peregrine in Central Otago in New Zealand, this is an outstanding pinot noir release from the 2022 vintage. Search it out if you can. It has delicious aromas of red cherries, supplemented by a “sous bois” character typical of top pinot noir. It is in the Burgundian style. The palate has the “beguiling” attribute consistent with pinot noir at its best, with flavours of red cherry predominant. This compelling wine finishes with long length and can be approached now. It should have a decade long drinking window. Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 94 points). Website: Peregrine Wines. Tasted: October 2026.
