Tenuta Sogno Di Ulisse Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2024 Review

This wine is from Tenuta Sogno Di Ulisse, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo in Italy and the 2024 vintage.  It is a typical expression of montepulciano (aka “monty”), which is something of an “all purpose” wine that suits most food and palates.  It is among the safest, but good, choices at a pizza restaurant, or restaurants with “off piste” wine lists when “on piste” is desired. In the glass, there are aromas of dark chocolate, brooding plums and dark cherries.  The palate is savoury and full bodied, with continuing notes of chocolate and plum and a pleasant tannic finish, though the latter does not appear immediately.  The alcohol is 13.5%.  This is a good quality montepulciano that is suitable for current drinking.  Review Rating: Good (★★★, 87 points). Website: Tenuta Ulisse. Tasted: September 2026.
