This wine from the Muscadet appellation in the far east of the Loire Valley in France and is labelled as “Briords”. It’s made from the melon de Bourgogne grape variety. The producer is Domaine de La Pépière who is described as being on the doorstep of Brittany. It’s a very typical style for muscadet sur lie. There are aromas of biscuit and lemon. The palate is light bodied and has a slippery, biscuity texture from the lees and is freshened by high acidity. It’s very pleasant and suitable for current drinking. Consider this wine when you might have reached for a Chablis. Review Rating: Good (★★★, 87 points). Website: Domaine de la Pépière. Tasted: March 2026. Like: Subscribe.
