This is an excellent wine from Tenuta San Guido in Tuscany. It’s the third wine of this producer, who also produce the outstanding Sassicaia. The 2024 vintage of Le Difese is a blend of cabernet sauvignon and sangiovese. The wine was a little reticent on opening, but promptly did so upon arrival at the table of pizza with Italian buffalo mozzarella. With time, cherries, leaf, blackcurrants, firm acidity, good length and complexity emerged on the palate. Drink this wine over the next decade. Review Rating: Very Good (★★★★, 91 points).
