Château de Sancerre 2017 Wine Review

Advertisements

This wine review is of Château de Sancerre’s 2017 vintage from Sancerre in the Loire Valley. In the glass, the wine is a classical expression of Sancerre sauvignon blanc, with muted aromas and flavours of lemon and herbs. It is a very tight wine that has high acidity at its core. The wine is medium bodied, moderate in alcohol (13.0) and has a mineral, chalky and savoury expression from possible lees stirring. If there is oak, it is second or third use and has little influence. Overall, this is a good to very good example of Sancerre that is in its best drinking window. It should continue to remain there for a further 2-3 years. Rating: Good to Very Good. Website: Producer; Vivino; Wine Searcher. Reviewed: May 2021.
