This is a very good Valpolicella from Zenato made even better when paired, as it was, with a delicious pizza from Lucio Pizzeria in Darlinghurst. Â It’s mostly corvina, seasoned with rondinella and molinara. Â These are all grape varieties little seen in Australia, but the classic Valpolicella (and Amarone) combination. Â In the glass, there are aromas of blackcurrant and florals. Â The palate has great length, with undertones of plums, blackcurrant and a hint of peppermint. Â A must buy. Â (Region: Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy, Rating: Very Good, Would I buy it based on this tasting? Oh yes, Drink: now to 2027, Tasted: July, 2017)
