I was quite taken by this Médoc wine. A blend of 65% merlot, 15% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc and 10% petit verdot, it has classic left bank Bordeaux aromatics of earth, blackcurrant, tobacco leaf and some cigar box. Its palate has a quite rounded mouthfeel with acid edges that I found to be quite moreish. Layers of flavour gently presented themselves – blackcurrants and tobacco leaf mainly – and are supported by quite lingering length and fine grained tannins. This is a very attractive wine and, considering the difficult 2007 Bordeaux vintage from which it was born, it is well worth your attention. Good to Very Good
