Cristom Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Mt. Jefferson Cuvée 2013

I’ve had some very good Australian pinot noirs, but it does seem that there are a series of foreign regions that are gifted easier climatic building blocks that result in more Burgundian styling.  To my palate, Oregon is one such region and this pinot noir from the Willamette Valley south of Portland in Oregon inContinue reading “Cristom Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Mt. Two good cabernets and a shadow

Every now and then a blind tasting just knocks your socks off, and teaches you something too.  In this case, it was helpful to learn that a “super premium” label that I have recently had doubts about gave rise to the same doubts when tasted blind, and two prestigious labels that I am very partialContinue reading “Two good cabernets and a shadow”
