L’Artisan Grenache Noir 2019 Wine Review

This wine review is of the L’Artisan “Le Grenache Noir” from the 2019 vintage and Jean-Claude Mas. It’s from the Pays d’Oc IGP (indication gĂ©ographique protĂ©gĂ©e) in the south of France. In the glass, the wine has aromas of red berries (raspberries and red plums), warm cooking spices and cedar. The palate is dry, mediumContinue reading “L’Artisan Grenache Noir 2019 Wine Review”

Saint Sidoine Côtes de Provence Rosé 2018

This is a good, classically styled CĂ´tes de Provence rosĂ© from Saint Sidoine. It is a very pale salmon/copper in colour. It opens to aromas of unripe strawberries and firm red fruits. The palate is medium bodied, the acidity between medium and high, and the finish dry and harmonious. Rating: Good. Website: http://saintsidoine.com; wine-searcher.com. White gold in colour in the glass, this is a savoury expression of riesling with notes of lemon, minerals and some phenolic characters from time on skins. The palate is dry, medium bodied, the acidity is medium (perhaps lower thanContinue reading “Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Roche Granitique 2018 Wine Review”

Mas d’Espanet Pinot Noir 2016

This is a good quality pinot noir from an unlikely place, namely the warm Languedoc and the Cevennes IGP in particular.  I can’t recall previously seeing this IGP.  I read that it sits in the northern, more mountainous part of the Languedoc, a region that is diverse but more grenache, syrah and carignan country.  InContinue reading “Mas d’Espanet Pinot Noir 2016”
