This is a very good bottle of the 2000 vintage of Château de Fieuzal, a top producer in the Pessac-Leognan region in Bordeaux. I’ve previously reviewed a number of other vintages of this producer, some of which appear in the related posts section below. For the remainder, you can use the search bar to find them. The 2000 vintage is a great year in Bordeaux as I have noted many times. The cork on this bottle of Château de Fieuzal is exceptionally well preserved for a wine of this age. In the glass, the wine is deeply coloured with aromas of leaf, leather and game, typical of good Pessac-Leognan. The palate is medium bodied and the tannins are firm. There are mature tertiary characters and the wine has long length on the finish. Outstanding drinking. Review Rating: Very Good to Outstanding (★★★★☆, 93 points). Website: Château de Fieuzal. Tasted: June 2024.
