Zenato Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2014

This is a very good Valpolicella from Zenato made even better when paired, as it was, with a delicious pizza from Lucio Pizzeria in Darlinghurst.  It’s mostly corvina, seasoned with rondinella and molinara.  These are all grape varieties little seen in Australia, but the classic Valpolicella (and Amarone) combination.  In the glass, there are aromas of blackcurrant and florals.  The palate has great length, with undertones of plums, blackcurrant and a hint of peppermint.  A must buy.  (Region: Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy, Rating: Very Good, Would I buy it based on this tasting? Oh yes, Drink: now to 2027, Tasted: July, 2017)
