Torbreck The Steading 2010

Torbreck’s The Steading is a blend of grenache, shiraz and mataro (aka mourvèdre).  The 2010 vintage tasted here has aromatics that are quite developed, reminding of game, leather, currants and cut grass.  On the palate, this is a full bodied wine, with considerable fruit power and predominant expressions of plums and Christmas cake.  The acidity seemed elevated, although its hefty alcohol was in check.  Like other Torbreck wines, I found a glass sufficient.  Good
