Tim Adams is very close to the famous Wendouree estate in the Clare Valley, and both produce a blend not regularly seen in Australia – a cabernet malbec.  Oh, and it’s around 1/3 of the price.  The trap laid, I am happy to wander into it.  Tim Adams’ 2010 cab malbec vintage sees 24 months in French oak which influences its style.  Its aromatics remind of clove, oak, mulberry, cedar and blackcurrant.  The palate is full bodied with flavours of clove, blackcurrant and some good length.  The oak is a little obvious at this point in the wine’s development, but there is a fruit weight and structure, and some firm tannins to suggest that this wine is built to last.  Cellar for at least a further 5 to 10 years, and enjoy.  Good
